Similarities of the harmonic functions and the complex plane to three-space and time may suggest that a four-space algebra might be constructed similar to the complex plane and that suitably 'smooth' functions may follow in much the same way as analytic functions in the complex plane yielding field equations for physical phenomena. Indeed, it turns out that such is the case.
