Birds, bees, whales, and many other migratory and homing animals are known to use geomagnetic cues for orientation and navigation. Dogs can even find buried magnets more easily than odors, arguing that magnetoreception is in their conscious awareness. I will update our recent discovery of the human geomagnetic sensory system, and compare its biophysical and sensory properties to those of our distant animal ancestors
