The pursuit of knowledge has led to a spectacular understanding of the cosmos. Mathematics and the natural sciences together have yielded the standard model of cosmology today: Lambda-CDM. There are limits to this knowledge. Along with observational/experimental limitations there are reasons why particular programs cannot be computed, propositions proven, and physical systems predicted. These constraints are not often explored in connection with cosmology, this essay will show that they can inform cosmology as an "envelope of emergence."
