Abstract
In our search for a fundamental basis to address the insurmountable paradigm shifts occurring in two major disciplines, particle physics and cognitive neuroscience, we propounded a “universal field of quantum-consciousness as covariant with the spacetime, on par with gravitation, pervaded by string-like novel signals, nourons, capable of instantaneous communication. Based on theoretical role of nourons in explaining the mystery of ‘instantaneous nonlocal correlation between a pair of entangled photons” in quantum mechanics, and in solving the perennial mystery of how a physical brain engenders meaning in a conscious experience and how meaning is represented, nourons were tested in their capability to transduce particle-like photons into corresponding wave-like photons, causing the interference pattern in double-slit experiment, under both presence and absence of nourons. Preliminary experimental results are encouraging to regard nourons on the universal field of quantum-consciousness as fundamental.
