Abstract
Is it ultimately possible in physics to construct a unified field theory? It has been said that string theory is the Only Game in Town for such a construction, but this essay attempts to outline another program that might possibly succeed in such a construction, based on geometry, Clifford algebra, and construction of a hyperfinite von Neumann factor. For the program to succeed, it must enable calculation of force strengths, particle masses, etc. The Math of Hua Lougeng, particularly the work in his book "Harmonic Analysis of Functions of Several Complex Variables in the Classical Domains" is the key to doing those calculations. Due to space limitations, this essay is restricted to a general overview of the framework of the proposed program, but reference is made to works with details including extensive calculations.
