How Quantum is Life?

The re-naturalisation of the litany of Aristotelian causes, which Kant had located in the mind, is the consequence of the ‘storytelling turn’ in physics and the sciences in general. Inter-, trans- and multi-disciplinary research, by sidestepping the phenomena (modal escapism), I will argue, mistake for real and hence investigable the teleological domain, i.e. the domain of an apparently directed, purposive and systematic totality. This failure surfaces in the systemic and hence temporal misinterpretation of the regulative idea of systematicity. The thesis I will defend in this essay is kind of a quasi-geometrical implementation of Kant’s unity of experience as the emergence of a dialogical ‘I’ from the internal tensions between structuralised and not yet structuralised parts of a truly (dialectically) evolvable knowledge system. Hence it goes without saying that a 'world' cannot arise from mathematics, logic or both.
